Ode to Da Vinci

This is a copy of a Leonardo Da Vinci sketch of a study he did for a battle painting he never completed.  It doesn't matter that he never did the painting as the prep sketches are excellent.  This is an experiment and I am no where close to Da Vinci, but I like to practice after a Master to improve my skills.  This is done in pencil.

Tulips Fields and Windmills - Block-in

So I was overcome by events last week and did not get any other drawing it contrary to my last post about needing to do more.  I did come home tonight and start on this Dutch scene of Tulip Fields and a Windmill in oil paint.  I guess I want spring to come and see some flowers.

Figure study - pencil and chalk

I am back from a little break, too much work.  I did this tonight after work with a hockey game in the background.  I am not real happy with this.  It is okay but I can tell I took a break and lost some skill. I will work on not taking breaks to lose the edge.
