Sanderling Painting

I have been on the road and then I was on a little vacation and I could not get this posted.  I went to a painting night with the wife Barb and her friend, Sharon.  We painted a scene of a Sanderling on the beach.  Above is mine.  I like it mostly, but I do want to rework the foam line were it meets the beach, otherwise it is not bad.

Wrist and Hand study update

I worked on this some more but I did not really get too much further along.  I repositioned some of the details and widened the wrist some.

Profile block-in sketch

I am working the pencil skills on faces and heads.  Not much to say about this just more of the work needed to get to the level of proficiency one wants.

Skeleton Hand Study

This is another skeleton hand study done while on travel and done with pencil.  It sometimes is hard to believe this is what a hand looks like without the flesh.

Hand and Wrist study

I found this great picture and I am trying to draw it in pencil.  This is the start.

Cherry Blossom - Close Up

I worked on the close up of the Cherry Blossoms.  I did not like the background so I changed it to a more greyed out darker one.  I added more texture and roundness to the buds and the branches.  I think it is close to done.  The Blossoms that survived the crazy weather are peaking this weekend so get to the Tidal Basin to enjoy or wait till next year.
