Character Sketch

Tonight's post is another of the sketches I did on my travels.  This woman has a lot of character, which is code for her face is lopsided.  Now is it character or a flawed part of my learning process.  The great thing about art is it doesn't matter.

Cherry Blossom And Stone Lantern - Finished

I worked on this today, I am getting back into painting after the travel.  Since the Cherry Blossoms have been screwed up by the weather in DC this year, this will be your best shot of seeing them.

Sketch Profile of Short haired Woman

This is another pencil sketch done while trapped on an airplane.  I think she is not happy to be on the plane either, though she was a picture in a book.  I think i spent too much time traveling.  I will try to get to the easel for some painting tomorrow.

More Airline Sketch time

This is more of the sketching I did on the airplane rides I took the past couple of weeks.  It is not an original design but something to pass the time captive in an airplane seat.  It is done with lead pencil.

Back from the Beyond

I am back.  I have been traveling for the last three weeks for regular work.  I have not been able to post or to do a lot of art work.  I did this sketch on the airplane and it is copied out of a book, but it a good way to work on technique.  This was done with pencil.

Rusty Anchor

I tweaked the Rusty Anchor with the addition of weld shadow and small adjustments to the rust and shadows.  I think this is pretty much done.

Stone Lantern Cherry Blossoms

I worked on this oil painting tonight.  I worked on fixing the drawing of the lantern details.  The rough in was way too rough.  I then worked on developing the blossoms.  I will need to finish the lantern and make a few corrections to the blossoms to get this one done.
