Tonight is a seaside sketch.  I did a little painting today, but it is not ready for the blog.  So enjoy this little one for now.

I worked on sketching skills today.  This is a building block for painting skills.  Being able to see and understand your darks and lights is part of the key to getting your paintings better.

Merry Christmas to everyone and Happy Holidays!  This is this year's christmas card.  It was drawn with pencil and marker on watercolor paper.  I hope everyone is having a great day and are enjoying themselves.

Snowy River Block-in

After a long Holiday commute, I did manage to get this start block-in started on this sketch of a snowy river out west.  I need to add a tree to the foreground, detail to the grass blobs, and detail in the middle ground pine trees.  The river will need reflection and current movement.  All things to be added tomorrow.

Back to painting

I worked on the block-in of this small sketch of a winter scene with a tree in the foreground.  It will need some work but its just the start.
