Back after travel to the west

I have returned from a road trip out to North Dakota, Montana, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, and Ohio. I did not do as much painting as I would have liked but I did get to take some great photos.  This is a Plein Air oil painting I did of a Cottonwood Tree on the Colorado River near Moab, Utah

Virginia Cloud Study

I worked this cloud study in oil today in King George, Virginia.  I am working on doing more Plein Air painting to improve my observational skills.

I worked on this the yesterday and tonight.  This is a pencil sketch.  I last year wanted to do 50 head sketches and did about 25.  So now I am continuing on to the 50.
