Pokemon Go - Niece's Birthday

My niece here in Maryland had a birthday this week, she is into Pokeman Go.  So I drew her this Bulbasaur character.  So Happy Birthday Alyssa!

Aspen Grove Study

I worked on this today, it is a study of Aspen trees in a grove.  It also is a way to study negative space, i.e. the blank shapes of white, which also show the trees and spaces as importantly as the drawn lines.

Bar Art Sketch

Happy Friday, I had a perfect Friday, I went to a brewery and drew.  Beer and art, who really needs more.  I will tweak this a bit to make better shadows and reflections.

Lombardi Populars Sketch

Tonight's sketch is Lombardi Populars. These are the tall skinny trees from the Mediterranean. Happy Hump Day!

Musee de Beaux Art, Lyon, France Fountain Sketch

So I only got to do a very small bit of sketching on my work trip.  I went to the Museum of Beautiful Art or Musee de Beaux Art Lyon.   The museum had a courtyard with a fountain made of Marble blocks.  I was able to spend a little time working on a sketch of the fountain.  I have a picture and I will work out the background of arches and trees.  I will probably do an oil painting later.

Winter Sycamore Tree sketch

Tonight's pencil sketch is a Winter Sycamore tree sketch.  I really like these trees with their smooth satiny bark and grey blotchiness.  They have complicated and twisty branches.

More sketchbook pages, a mix of Elephants, gerbil, rabbit, horse and Cow head.  Nothing like the odd mix.  I think I did these from a book with different photos as a way to practice quick sketches to improve skills and observation.
