Sandhill Cranes
We tried to go and see the Sandhill Cranes in Omaha back in March but Covid cut that off, so in the hope of seeing them this coming year in February I did this Gouache and watercolor painting of Cranes flying in to roost for the night on the Platte River.

Bermuda Petrel
This is an ink drawing of A Bermuda Petrel. It is an endangered sea bird which only nests on the Bermuda islands. It was thought extinct for 300 years but was "rebound" and saved since 1953.

New computer and return to blogging
I had to get new computer so that and a road trip has delayed the bogging, but not working on drawing and painting. This is a sketch of a two masted ship, maybe a Barque. This was done in pencil and free hand with out a ruler. The straight lines are a bit of a pain.

Caboose Generator - Block In
This is an oil painting done in a little bit of a tonal style. This is an electrical generator on a retired caboose. This is how the old American Cabooses got electricity in the caboose. The movement down the rails would run this and charge a battery.

Happy New Year, Native American Sketch
I finished this sketch today. I then realized I have not posted in this year yet. This is a pencil sketch of Stephen Small Salmon from Montana. He is a member of the Pend d'Oreille tribe from the Flathead Reservation in Montana. I had great photos of him from our trip up to Montana.
