Tulips Fields and Windmills - Block-in

So I was overcome by events last week and did not get any other drawing it contrary to my last post about needing to do more.  I did come home tonight and start on this Dutch scene of Tulip Fields and a Windmill in oil paint.  I guess I want spring to come and see some flowers.

Figure study - pencil and chalk

I am back from a little break, too much work.  I did this tonight after work with a hockey game in the background.  I am not real happy with this.  It is okay but I can tell I took a break and lost some skill. I will work on not taking breaks to lose the edge.

Cedar Tree sketch - Brown ink

So my birthday post is a brown pen sketch of a Cedar Tree.  It's a nice way to enjoy my evening and relax from the day job.

Henna Hand

This is a Henna Hand done in ink and colored pencils.  The wife had this done some years back.  Her two small fingers are curling down.  The colored pencils make up the color of her skin.  Her Mother thought it was a tattoo and freaked out.  It only took three months to wear off, so it seemed almost permanent.

Seated figure with muscles

Last night I did this sketch with just the skeleton, so tonight I added the muscles in pencil.

Seated Skeleton Study

I some times feel like this at the day job.  Well this is modeled after the medieval or masters style of drawing the skeleton, then the muscles, and then add the clothing and facial features.  Tomorrow I will add the muscles.
